About asthma:

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease typically caused by airway inflammation. Symptoms include wheezing, shortness of breath, chest tightness, and cough, which vary over time and intensity.

Asthma patients are treated with multiple medications and have frequent life-threatening exacerbations.

Asthma complications include:

Signs and symptoms that interfere with sleep, work, and other activities
A permanent narrowing of the tubes that carry air to and from the lungs, which affects how well asthma patients can breathe
Emergency room visits and hospitalizations for severe asthma attacks

Finding the right treatment makes a difference in preventing complications caused by this condition.

About 2 years

You may be eligible to join this study if you:

Are 12 to 80 years old
Have had an asthma diagnosis for more than 2 years
Have required corticosteroids at least twice over the last 12 months to control your asthma
