AMETHYST Gout Clinical Research Study
The AMETHYST Study is exploring new options
for gout management
Join the AMETHYST Study of a possible treatment for adults with gout who still have flare-ups and cannot take allopurinol or febuxostat, or for whom intravenous (IV) uricase treatment did not help.
The AMETHYST Study is testing the effectiveness and safety of a study drug, dotinurad, at lowering serum uric acid. This is the waste product that builds up in the blood, leading to gout symptoms.
You may be able to join the
AMETHYST Study if you:
- Are 18 to 75 years of age
- Have been diagnosed with gout for at least 1 year

Still have gout flare-ups and either
- Are unable to take allopurinol or febuxostat
OR- Intravenous (IV) uricase treatment was not effective
You will need to meet other requirements to join the AMETHYST Study. Please contact us for details.
If you qualify and decide to take part, you will get:
- The study drug, dotinurad
- Medication to prevent gout flares
- Study-related medical care throughout the study
- Reimbursement for reasonable study-related expenses (travel and meals)
